Services for Those Living With Dementia
The Memory Farm has three types of raised gardens: a cutting (flower) garden, a vegetable garden, and a sensory garden. Our clients will help plant and nurture these gardens.
In our small barn, we have a potting shed where our clients can pot flowers to bring home, dry herbs and flowers, and make floral arrangements. There is also a workshop area with tools and a porch swing located outside of the small barn where our clients can relax and sip some lemonade!
We have a therapy dog and goats that have been trained to interact with persons living with dementia. We also have barn cats and chickens. Our clients can feed and nurture the animals.
The Memory Farm property encourages safe wandering on the property and has wandering stations that offer a variety of physical and cognitive activities. To encourage physical activity, visual-motor skills and just plain fun, we have lawn games!
We have indoor activities too, including gentle yoga and chair yoga!
It is important to us that we cater to our clients' hobbies and interests. We really want to get to know your loved one so that we can design other activities that he or she will enjoy.
Memory Farm Market
The Memory Farm Market ® is a farmer's market run by our clients. The market will feature fresh flowers and produce grown on our farm.
In our farmhouse we offer a variety of indoor activities. These change daily. Past activities have included safe baking and cooking, making blanket to donate to the local animal shelters, chair yoga, and painting.
